About Us

Shamatha Yoga Studio teaches the practice of yoga and meditation, with a focus on the connection between mind and body. We integrate the principles of several yoga disciplines, school of thought and styles.

 

The practice incorporates Asanas (physical postures), Pranayama (breathe techniques) and several meditation methods. 

For nearly 20 years, our studio has been a "sanctuary" for creating balance, strength, harmony, equanimity and peace. Our Feng Shui space is open, airy and quiet. Our goal is to inspire, teach and enhance the health, well-being and serenity of every kindred soul.

This is an invitation to assist each student on journey of self-discovery.

We offer all styles of Yoga to fit your personal, physical and spiritual needs. Practiced on a regular basis, you'll begin to  create harmony, balance, strength and flexibility, release chronic tension, stress and anxiety. Shamatha  encourages one to live life  more consciously,  joyfully and centered. Our teaching style is eclectic and non-dogmatic. We integrate Vinyasa Flow,  Ashtanga, Yin Yoga, Kripalu, Iyengar, Sivananda, Anasara, Power, and others.

Classes are unique, empowering and fun! We offer open, mixed-level and private classes. We also offer a "true" beginner class that encompasses (history, foundation and fundamentals of yoga). This class is scheduled on the first week of each six (6) week session. 

 

Teachers

Chris Blanks 

Principle and Director, Chris is certified in several disciplines of Kripalu Yoga, Ashtanga, Vinyasa Flow, Viniyoga, Power Yoga with additional certifications from the Yoga Institute of Houston. Chris is also a Reiki and Sadja Energy Healer. 

Francesca

Francesca is a certified Vinyasa Yoga teacher. She trained at Saraswati’s Yoga Joint under the guidance of Mitchel Blier, Tracy Blier, and Donna Jackson.  Francesca has an extensive athletic background in track and field.

Danielle Delvecchio

Danielle aspires to share the brighter side of life with her students. She teaches a Five Element Vinyasa Flow and is also trained in various meditation styles, including Yoga Nidra. Danielle has also studied and is trained in Reiki. 

Monica

Monica grew up in Miami, where in 2007 she began discovering her love for yoga by practicing vinyasa on paddle boards, enjoying the natural elements of the ocean and the sun.
